Matt Dawson has a passion for helping kids become better people through the power of sports. He believes in the ability of sports to provide opportunities to improve the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of young lives in a fun, yet challenging atmosphere. Having grown up around sports his entire life, including being recruited for and playing both football and baseball at Yale University and coaching a variety of youth sports such as baseball, softball, basketball, and football for the past decade, Matt has both experienced and witnessed the transformative experiences of sports. He knows that the foundations laid during a child’s early sporting life are critical to later success, both on and off the field. While winning is important, Matt’s goal is to serve as a positive role model and mentor to the athletes he coaches, and to help them learn about the hard work it takes to be truly great in life.
Matt completed his Bachelor’s degree at Yale University, his Master’s at the University of Georgia, and has a PhD in Human Development and Family Science from The Ohio State University. He is lucky to be married to his wonderful wife Penny, and is exceptionally proud of his kids Emma and Nathan.
