Player safety is on all levels our top priority. Under the direction of the NFL Youth Football League Board new coaches will be recruited and are required to go through a training program that includes a review of city policies, goals and requirements in addition to, learning and understanding parent and player interaction as well as our guiding principles and coaching philosophy.
Due to our projected increase of enrollment for the football season Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches will be identified with personal NFLYFL ID Badges. This year since NFLYFL only had one 3rd/4th grade tackle football team we did not feel the need to issue ID badges; and since the commissioner was one of the coach’s security was not an issue. However, our 5th grade Division 1 tackle football team (due to their traveling throughout Atlanta to compete) coaches was issued and required to wear their ID badge for security purposes at all times. The ID Badges will ensure that each coach has met the NFLYFL requirements to coach our players. These requirements are as followed:
New for the Fall 2015 Football Season ALL Coaches will also be required to complete the Mandated Reporters: Critical in Protecting Children in Georgia Catalog No. 0140. This is a 2 hours Course approved by the Governor’s office for Children and Families, Division of Family and Children Services and Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.
